FAQs
How often should I check my tyres?
You should check your tyres at least once a month and before any long trip. Look for cuts, bulges, uneven wear and low tread, and always check pressures when the tyres are cold. Regular checks help you stay safe, improve fuel efficiency and extend tyre life.
How often should I replace tyres?
Most tyres need replacing every 40,000 – 50,000 km (brand dependent), but it depends on how and where you drive. In New Zealand, tyres must have at least 1.5mm tread across the whole tyre to pass a WoF. If your tyres show wear, cracks, or age over 6 to 7 years, you should replace them.
Do you offer same-day fitting?
Yes, we usually can offer same-day tyre fitting, depending on stock and workshop bookings. If we have your tyre size in stock and you contact us early in the day, we’ll do our best to get you fitted and back on the road the same day.
Can I replace just one tyre?
You can replace just one tyre, but it’s not always recommended. For best safety and handling, tyres should be replaced in pairs on the same axle, with similar tread depth and pattern. We’ll inspect your tyres and advise whether a single replacement is safe for your vehicle. After the replacement of any number of tyres, a Wheel Alignment is highly recommended to correct the steering geometry.
What is the difference between a cheap tyre and a premium tyre?
Cheap tyres usually have lower grip, longer stopping distances and shorter lifespans compared with premium tyres. Premium brands spend more on materials, tread design, and testing. This gives you better performance in wet weather, comfort, and durability. We’ll help you weigh the upfront cost against safety, performance and long-term value.
What tyre brands do you stock?
We offer a variety of trusted tyre brands for different vehicles and budgets, including Goodride, Kumho, Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental, Pirelli and Hankook. These cover premium, mid-range and quality budget options. Tell us your vehicle and how you drive, and we’ll recommend the best brand and tyre model from our current range.
Can you fix run-flat tyres?
In many cases, drivers should replace run-flat tyres rather than repair them, as driving on them while flat can damage the structure. We’ll inspect your run-flat tyre, check the manufacturer’s guidelines and assess any internal damage. If it’s not safe to repair, we’ll recommend a suitable replacement.
How long does a typical tyre service take?
Most standard tyre services, like fitting and balancing tyres, take about 45 to 90 minutes for all 4 tyres. Single tyre replacements or pairs can be about 15 minutes. This time depends on your vehicle and the work needed. Simple puncture repairs can be faster. If you’re also having a wheel alignment or additional checks, allow a bit more time.
